FILMMAKING

Get ready for an action-packed adventure at the McGuigan Arts Academy Spring Break Film Camp! Students start by writing scripts, scouting locations and creating detailed storyboards, shot lists, prop and costume lists. Our filmmakers then dive into filming, bringing their stories to life! After filming has wrapped, it’s time to work their magic in the editing room, polishing their cinematic masterpieces! To end the week, students will host a screening for their friends and family to enjoy their blockbuster creations!

SCHEDULE

Camp runs Monday - Friday from 9am - 4pm. Optional after care may be added on for an additional cost. All camps are held at the McGuigan Arts Academy studio located in Countryside Village.

April 8 - 12 | Ages 10+

PRICING

$300 Individual Student Registration
$500 Multi-Student Registration for Two Students
$75 After Care | 4pm - 5:30pm (optional add-on)

All pricing is per week per student. If registering 3 or more students in the same household, please email kimberly@billymcguigan.com for group pricing and registration.

REFUND POLICY

If you request a cancelation more than 30 days prior to the start of camp you will have the choice between a full class credit towards a future class, camp or lesson within the same calendar year or a partial refund of $250 for individual registrations and $200 for a multi-student registration. After Care will be fully refunded. If canceled within 30 days of the first day of camp no refunds will be available. You will receive full class credit towards a future class, camp or lesson within the same calendar year.


MEET YOUR TEACHERS

JAY SRYGLEY

Jay Srygley is an Omaha based actor, musician and producer. Jay has also been teacher of performing and creative arts for 15 years. When not on stage performing, his primary focuses are on audio and video production. He has produced hundreds of studio recordings and videos over the past 20 years for clients ranging from individuals and local schools and churches, to the Omaha Community Playhouse, First National Bank, and Mutual of Omaha. Jay produced all of the streaming content for the Omaha Community Playhouse during the pandemic with an expertise in multi-camera live capture, nonlinear editing, and audio mastering.

KIMBERLY FAITH HICKMAN

Kimberly Faith Hickman, the Artistic & Education Director for Rave On Productions, is a distinguished theatre producer, director, and choreographer with a rich portfolio spanning Broadway, Off Broadway, national tours, and regional theatre productions nationwide. Praised for her innovative approach to both plays and musicals, her work has garnered acclaim from publications such as Broadwayworld.com and Backstage, described as "bursting with ideas" and "undeniably stunning." With extensive experience on Broadway and Off-Broadway, she has contributed to productions receiving a total of 19 Tony® Award nominations.

ABBY CUSTER

Abby Custer is a teacher, director, performer, artist, and playwright. For over six years, Abby has taught a variety of drama courses at both the high school and university level. One of her favorite courses to teach was History of Rock and Roll! She has directed numerous plays, one acts, and musicals with actors of all ages and abilities. In 2023, Abby was honored as a finalist in ThinkTank Theatre’s TYA Playwright’s Festival.
